eCampusAlberta Citation Guide: "Where did THAT come from?"
Presenters: Christine Marles, Quality Consultant, and Cynthia Peterson, Teacher Librarian
What’s the most-frequently missed standard in Quality 2.0 course review? Without a doubt, it’s the requirement for appropriate citation of all academic content. We know that proper citation is vital—it demonstrates academic integrity, shows respect for others’ work, models scholarship for students, and contributes to the body of knowledge—so why is the standard so rarely met? Well, it’s hard work. That’s why the Quality Team has developed a customized Citation Guide for member institutions. Housed in the Quality eToolkit and available under a CC-BY license, the Guide provides easy fixes to the most-common errors found by course reviewers and citation examples for the highest-use materials in online courses (images, websites, videos, books, open educational resources, etc.). Please join us to learn more about this new resource that not only addresses the basics but makes citing sources easier, faster, and, perhaps even more fun!
